Dear BPW Colleagues, |
| |

Long ago, way back in the 60's, people who were raising their
own food were considered not "with the times". It was a new time
of convenience and prepackaging. The modern person was no longer
spending time on their knees working on raising vegetables or
chasing around chickens. The world was becoming one of fashion
and culture. Only the Hippies still shared crops, spoke openly
about love and used those old fashion grandma cures. Us smart
people went to our doctors and took real medication to heal our
problems. Things from jars and boxes became the "in" thing and
not those earthy mixtures our grandparents made us take.
Well folks, it appears we were "taken" in many ways. We are now
realizing grandma was right. We need to till our own soil, take
care of our neighbors, use herbs and butter. And those new
fangled boxes and bags are not what we thought they were... Yes
they are convenient, no one is arguing that. But fast is not
always good.
This brings me to my true subject. When did we start leaving our
intuition at home and using just book smarts to run our world? I
know in most fields of work and life it is a 'see it to believe
it' process. It must be proven and the facts need to be
repeatable (is that even a word?). The famous CEO Jack Welsh
used Gut Instinct to run major corporations, those words were
acceptable; Dale Carnegie listened to his internal voice; Bill
Gates used instinct; Christine Northrup used intuition. What are
they really saying? These are terms you can not see. Gut
instinct, intuition, internal voice, a feeling, I just knew....
Can we go as far as to say spirituality is involved here? Is
this a connection to something much bigger than the body's own
energy? I believe the answer is yes. It appears to be something
bigger that we can all lean on. It appears to be an endless
energy that we are all tapped into and we have the ability and
the possibly, even the right, to enjoy and use. In the recent
weeks we have seen so many natural disasters that have torn up
parts of the earth and killed many people. As this shift has
happened it has helped to remind many of us that no matter where
we come from and no matter how we were raised, we are all
brothers and sisters. We are all affected by those happy and
suffering around us. As a human race we want to survive. Most of
us want to "feel" accepted and be a needed piece of that human
race. The only thing stopping most of us, is, ourselves. We have
been cut off from that energy of oneness, the energy that
connects us all. When some people are hurt they cut themselves
off. When they are angry or frustrated, sad or depressed they
cut themselves off. They are no longer a part of the loving
energy they crave to be with and sadly most do not or will not
allow themselves to come back easily.
The oneness energy is always flowing, always available and
always non-judging. It just is. This is not religion, this is
not a cult. It just is. It is simply. Everything is made of
energy. "It" is "energy".
I long to see a world where we are comfortable to say to our
friends and those we meet on the street, " I am a spiritual
being and I 'feel' or use my internal guidance system to lead me
through life each day." Spirituality is alive and well and those
that are using it daily are connected to the Oneness that many
people are missing. The joy of knowing no matter what happens we
have something bigger than ourselves to lean on. There is
comfort there... comfort that is more powerful than words can
describe and we can always have it any time of day.
No matter what your belief system, and trust me this is not
meant to challenge you, you can experiment with it. Use your
imagination, feel the energy running through your body, get
happy for another human being, or listen to a song that "raises
your vibration". We are all connected. We are all filled with a
spirit, an energy, a power that is repeatable, that is real and
that is always available. Close your eyes and 'feel it'. If you
can 'feel it', then begin sharing it with others. We can all
make a difference on this earth.
Sincerely,
Barb Tremlett
BPW of Nashua President 2010-2011
