Dear BPW Colleagues, |
| |

What makes a woman strong? What gives her the strength to stand
up and do the right thing with confidence and conviction? The
answer to those questions are varied depending on so many
factors. I know that the majority of our belief systems are
created before we reach the age of 10. Wonderful experiences and
harsh realities make up a big part of who we are and we can
potentially come. I love to work with beginner minds and people
who are open to the world of possibilities. Recently I had the
opportunity to spend several hours with a group of nursing
students. After sharing many factoids with them I was able to
share some of the real secrets of life, energy medicine and the
phenomenal power of the mind. I could see the potential in their
eyes and the wanting to know deeper truths about how they also
could have such great confidence and commitment to their
profession and the future patients.
What makes a strong women? I believe it is other strong women
who step up and become the example for them. Teaching and
probing their minds and sharing with them the examples of how
they have achieved their personal levels of achievement and how
they conquered any of their disbeliefs. It is purely you, the
persons reading this, the women that "have been there" and know
that anything is achievable with faith and support. Please join
me in the support of those women in need. Mentor a women wanting
to learn your profession, donate your time to a non-profit, or
share your knowledge with an organization of moms who are trying
to make a better work for their kids. Most of all, do not shirk
or hide your gifts. Be proud of your talents and your
professions, no matter what they are, and share!! Each time you
share yourself in this way you make a positive change in the
world and you create a stronger women.
Sincerely,
Barb Tremlett

Community Involvement Update By Nancy Baughman |
| |

From our Holiday Party in December..in addition to a wonderful
covered dish luncheon, great ice breaker questions, lots of
laughter, networking and general good will; we also collected a
total of eight large bags of food and several personal checks
for the New Hampshire Food Bank. Thank you Susan Cooke
for dropping this all off for us.
General Education Diplomas (GED's)
Sometimes we take for granted that everyone makes it through
high school. That's not always the case, so we have made it part
of our goal to help those less fortunate get that first,
important piece of paper - the high school diploma.
We hold regular raffles and set aside a certain portion of
membership dues for donation to local non-profit organizations.
These donations are to be used specifically to cover the cost of
GED study material and exams for area women who can use a little
extra help.
In 2010, we donated $300 to the Nashua Pastoral Care Center.
This year we have closer to $400 to donate and will be
presenting our check to a local group at a meeting in the near
future.
