Dear BPW Colleagues, |
| |

Are you ready for a change? This may be a vague question but a
good starting point for conversation. Are you happy with where
you are in your business life, your family life, or your health?
What about your spiritual life? Or in you own decision making
about vacations or how to spend your income? Is your life in a
flow or do you constantly feel you are traveling down a bumpy
road going nowhere?
Making changes in your life, growing in a positive direction,
and creating a new path is easier than many people give it
credit toward. I can give you a few tidbits to help. One of the
most needed things is to do an evaluation. Write down the
categories of your life and give them a grade for where you want
to be and where you actually stand today.
Now realize when doing this you must be focused on just this,
not doing anything else but focusing on you and personal
improvement. After creating a clear list then pick just one
category to work on. Question yourself. What were things that
created a low mark for this category? Of those things what could
I make a consorted effort to change? Make a list. Out of the
things on the list which one would be a quick and easy fix?
Choose that item and make a serious plan to address it
immediately. Once achieved, then go the next easiest and create
a plan of action to remove it from your list.
The reason you start from this direction is simply the feeling
of accomplishment. After you finish each items take a few
minutes or longer to be proud of your self for making the
change. Appreciate your positive actions and the fact you made a
decision and completed it. This small gesture is enough to
motivate you to do more and keep hitting the list until you have
completed the simple things and you realize you are now going
after the harder things.
Everything, and I do mean everything in life is done one step at
a time. Which direction are you traveling in? Are you on the
road to improvement or just traveling down a bumpy road
accepting everything that comes your way?
Sincerely,
Barb Tremlett
BPW of Nashua
President 2011-2012
