    Dear BPW Colleagues,

Susan Weidner Cooke, President We are ready to start a new year in September. The Board has been meeting all summer to have our best year yet. As always, our meetings are the 3rd Thursday of the month at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Nashua. Networking and registration begin at 11:00, lunch buffet at 11:30 and the meeting starts around 11:45. We encourage you to come early to have time to meet and talk with other guests and visitors. Again, this year guests are welcome and will receive a discount when attending with a member. We hope everyone will encourage other women to participate.

On Thursday, September 25 we will be hosting a booth at the Chamber Tri-City Expo. We are looking for women to share the responsibility of being at the booth. The Expo runs from 3-7 at the Center of NH Expo Center in Manchester. Please contact me at 578- 9899 X203 if you would like to participate.

You will note within the newsletter a notice from Nancy Baughman, our liaison to the Nashua Chamber. The BPW is a member of this valuable business organization and encourages its members to participate in the various programs offered through them. Recently they changed their policies in regard to members of organizations participation in their events. Please review Nancy's notice so you are aware of these changes.

If you want to get to know more of our members on a more intimate level, we invite you to join a committee. The committees are what keeps this organization going and has the biggest impact on the direction and future the Nashua BPW. If you want to know more about our various committees and what help is needed, please call me at 578-9899 X203.

I look forward to seeing you on Thursday, September 18th for our first meeting of the year. Enjoy the rest of your summer,

Susan Weidner Cooke, President
Nashua Business and Professional Women's
Association

Since 1997 BPW/USA has been supporting the 'Paycheck Fairness Act' and in 2008 it has finally passed! The official vote was 247 - 178 with 14 Republican's voting for the bill. BPW members sent over 190 letters in 24 hours through the Advocacy Center in support of the bill! We can make a difference and you're support is greatly appreciated and effective...

Special Presentation of Communities & Consequences
Date: September 17
Time: 5:30pm
Place: Eaton Richmond Center, Daniel Webster College
Cost: Free

As you know, BPW Nashua is a member of the Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce. It has recently come to our attention that this is a limited membership. Our Chamber contact has forwarded their official policy on member organizations and non-profits.
It is as follows: "For non-profit organization and membership organizations with paid staff, the Chamber's membership benefits are extended to all members of the paid staff. For non- profit organizations and membership organizations without a paid staff, the Chamber's membership benefits are extended to the organization's Board of Directors only, for their term in office only. The organization is requested to provide the Chamber with an up-to-date listing of their Board on an annual basis." Please accept our apologies for any confusion.

Small Business Owners -- Too Much To Do? Not Enough Hours in the Day?

Do you really have more to do than there are hours in the day? Or do you have the right balance of activities but with daily distractions preventing you from getting them all done? From the convenience of your own office or home, we will help you uncover the issues that steal your time. You'll manage your day more effectively and become more productive! See your business move forward more quickly when you realize how to get more out of your days!

This two class Tele-Class allows you to stay at your office. At just $79 for both classes, you'll take away at least that much value, compared to your billable rates.

We'll help you find solutions to these frustrations we often hear expressed in working with home based business owners:
-I can't find time for invoicing, marketing, classes ...
- I'm good at keeping up with appointments, but not with other things to do.
- I feel splintered. Too many hands in too many pies. Can't get enough done.
- I get so distracted working out of my home.
- Things take longer than they should.
- Setting priorities? My list is too long to begin with! - I have too many things that are holding at "80% done."
Please click here for a printable PDF with more detail about this teleclass or call Sue West , Space4U organizing, 603 765 9267 or email: Sue@OrganizeNH.com
