Dear BPW Colleagues, |
| |

Last night I was looking at the clouds with a friend. The clouds
were dark and ominous, but shining above them was a beautiful
orange glow. We agreed it was beautiful but the average person
would only see the dark and not be able to see this beautiful
light above them. Funny thing, I saw even further. I could see
the warm and happy sun behind the clouds. No matter what you
"see" it is usually covering up something so dynamic it is hard
to comprehend.
I am a "silver lining" kind of person and I enjoy challenging
myself to see the highest point possible. So, that being said,
when I am asked about the way the world is going now I can
faithfully say, I look at things in the long run. I look at how
things will grow and blossom in the future. I do not clarify
anything as it stands in this moment because I know in a short
amount of time it will no longer be that truth.
In fact, it will always get better. I am surrounded by some
Negative Nelly's and what I realize is that they are stuck in
the momentary thoughts of nothing will work, no body likes me,
or I don't have anything. They really are broken records. They
do not see that silver lining due to a habit of only seeing the
momentary darkness.
Take a fresh look. What can you achieve in the
future--tomorrow, next week, or with in the next year. Today
does not, I repeat does not, stop you from achieving something
tomorrow. You are the one that makes your success, your new
friendships or own happiness. Now you have something to really
think about!
Have a great holiday and make a commitment to have, be or do
wonderful new things!
Sincerely,
Barb Tremlett
BPW of Nashua President 2010-2011

Member's Spotlight by Nancy Baughman |
| |

Nancy Baughman (BPW Nashua's VP, PR and Community Service
Chairperson). I'm originally from Monroeville, PA. My home
town's only claims to fame: The first official mall in the US
was built there and was also the site of the filming of "Night
of the Living Dead" a film I hope to never actually see.
I have lived across the country from MA to CA and have over
twenty years of general management experience mostly in small
companies, start-ups and dotcoms. I have worked in human
resources, operations management, marketing and finance and worn
every hat in a small company, frequently more than one at a
time. I have also co-managed a Holstein dairy replacement farm.
Currently I own
Calm Water Business Partner, LLC , which provides
professional recruiting and senior strategic business partner
services mostly to small businesses and start-ups. I recruit for
a wide range of disciplines throughout an even wider range of
industries throughout New England.
Why did I join the BPW?
I was invited to attend a meeting three years ago and I felt
immediately welcome. I have learned so much from the women in
this group. The networking, mentoring and friendships I've made
make this group special.
On a Personal Note
I love photography (yes I'm the annoying one with the camera at
the meetings). Also I spend my time reading, hiking, gardening,
soaking up new information and spending time with my family
whenever possible. I recently donated my hair to Locks of Love
and this is the only recent picture of me remember I'm usually
on the other side of the camera
