    Dear BPW Colleagues,

barb
As we go into another season of change there are many things we will recognize with the change. The leaf peeping will start soon along with picking apples and choosing the perfect pumpkins, attending festivals and planning for other fall activities. As the last couple of weeks have shown falls brings other things like everyone's back to school, the traffic patterns are changing and most people are completing their final summer vacations.

The fall is a cleansing time and a chance to renew our commitments to our selves, our families and our businesses. What have you wanted to get interested in doing for the last 6 months? What new thing are you ready to take on for your personal improvement?

If becoming more active with the support of women's issues is an interest or networking with other strong local business women then I personally encourage you to join us at the BPW meetings. This month we have an outstanding speaker who can share her personal story about how she promotes women from her position of Mrs. New Hampshire.

Every day is a new one and you have the opportunity to make changes at any time. Please join us at our meeting and meet some wonderful strong business leaders.

Sincerely, Barb Tremlett
BPW of Nashua
President 2009-2010

"Women of Excellence: Setting Goals and Inspiring Others"
Date: Thursday, September 17, 2009
Time: 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
Location: Crowne Plaza Hotel, Exit 8, Nashua, NH

The art of excellence does not mean the absence of failure or the presence of perfection. Through practical and personal goal setting, you can begin to pull yourself out of stagnant waters and into the spring of personal accomplishment and destiny. As you begin to fulfill your potential, the initial "splash" of your success will create ripples that will influence and inspire those around you. Whether you have personal, professional, spiritual, or physical goals, you will be encouraged to get into the flow of fulfillment and onto the journey of excellence.

Please join us to hear Christine Hunt, former Mrs. New Hampshire speak about setting goals and inspiring others.

    Member's Spotlight by Nancy Baughman

Barb Tremlett, (President of BPW) is originally from St. Louis Missouri and has lived in Nashua for 22 years. She has a diverse work background, including working as a meat cutter for the Civil Service, owning a daycare center, working in healthcare, and as a facility manager for a large software corporation.

Barb completed her undergraduate studies at New Hampshire College (which is now Southern New Hampshire University) in 1998. She then received her MBA at Rivier College in 2001.

In her current work life, she runs a small business (The Holistic Self Care Center - http://www.thehsccenter.com ) with 20-25 staff members. She works with clients doing reiki, life coaching, craniosacral and pain/stress management. Her life is major-ally focused in positive attitudes, positive energy and teaching how to use those concepts for a higher quality of life, with a smile. She loves what she does and the people that she helps.

Barb has worked the last several years toward a vision of building a business that educates individuals to take an active role in their personal health care, become in tune with their bodies, and learn to trust their own intuition on the direction their lives should take. She believes when we are strong mentally, physically, and spiritually we can do, be or have anything we desire.

Why did she join the BPW?
"When I came to BPW in 2003 I was impressed by the caliber of women that were participating. I liked the idea of working with CEOs and entrepreneurs to expand my understanding of business and having high quality mentoring to work with which would increase my awareness of where I could improve. I liked that this group worked for supporting women in the workforce and educated on how to make positive changes. I also was happy to see the community outreach and how the organization worked to help women in need.  All qualities I care so strongly about."

What is her favorite part of BPW?
"My favorite part of the BPW is the community outreach and the new scholarship and mentoring program."

  On a Personal Note
She loves golf, traveling and living her passion with her company, The Holistic Self Care Center. Two of her favorite sayings are "It is what it is" and "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade".
