Dear BPW Colleagues, |
| |

As we begin another year many of us bring with us learning
points that we have gathered through this last year as great
lessons learned. Many of us have learned to live on less, many
have learned how to entertain at home, and many have adjusted to
not eating out as much. Many have also learned that our time is
limited so either we work twice as hard, multitask or maybe,
just maybe learn how to slow down and not take it all so
seriously. As women, mothers and leaders there are many people
watching us. We are the example for the next generation. What
are we teaching? That we work and work and never get caught up
or do we teach others how to savor a moment, how to smell the
sweetness in the air, to stop and watch the innocents of a child
or animal, watch a new flower open or one of the many miracles
that are right in front of us each and every day. It is a new
year and an opportunity to slow down and realize the amazing
life we each have to share with others. You are an example. Do
you want those watching you to say, "She knew how to enjoy
life!" or "She was always working"? It really is just a matter
of choice. You can "Choose to Savor the Flavor" of life.
Have a great 2010,
Sincerely,
Barb Tremlett
BPW of Nashua President 2009-2010

Member's Spotlight by Nancy Baughman |
| |

Kimberlie Hoffman (Vice President & Political Action Chair) was
born second from the oldest of six kids and was raised in
Medfield, Massachusetts. She enjoyed taking ballet, singing in
the choir and performing in school plays. During her senior
year, her family relocated to Fairfax, Virginia just outside of
Washington, DC. She joined them after graduation and started
working in DC. Her first job was with Ringling Brothers Barnum
and Bailey - and so it began!
In college she studied Interior Design but chose not to pursue a
career at that time but worked for 7 years in the District as an
Administrative Assistant in the construction industry.
Kimberlie says, "New Hampshire has been a wonderful experience,
I've met a lot of wonderful women in the building industry that
have helped me network and opened doors that have allowed me to
get where I am today."
While working at Dream she met her significant other and
Business Partner, Rick. This past year they decided to formulate
their own contracting business K R Kitchen Remodeling (http://www.krkitchensandbaths.com).
Together they offer their clients custom cabinets that they
Private Label and provide excellent contracting work.
They work out of their house so their overhead is low, making
remodeling more affordable without compromising on quality.
They prefer to keep their projects small, working within
existing space and they do a wide variety of projects from
kitchens, baths, laundry rooms, window replacement etc.?
Why did she join BPW?
"I joined BPW a few years ago while still at Dream Kitchens.
I've enjoyed the noon meetings and the many wonderful speakers
we've had. I got involved at the Board level about a year after
joining and have been active ever since. This year is my second
year active on the State level as Vice President. My biggest
responsibility is organizing the Conference, which we have in
May/June. This year we will meet in Connecticut at the Tri-State
Conference including Rhode Island. I encourage everyone to
attend at least one State Board meeting and to go to Conference;
I've met so many wonderful women that have enriched my life by
being a part of this organization."
On a Personal Note:
She and Rick have two kids; Matt is a junior in high school and
her stepdaughter, Kasey is in 8th grade. The kids keep them very
busy as they are both active in sports, Matt is on the Football,
Lacrosse, Track & Swim Teams. Kasey is on the Basketball & Track
Teams and rides horses competitively. They live in Epsom on five
acres on the Suncook River in a house that Rick built. As a
family they enjoy badminton, croquet, kayaking, fishing, hiking
and hanging around the fire pit. They have a German shorthaired
pointer named Jake and a cat named Jessie.
